Salt Lowdown - No Great Shakes?

What is the difference between sodium and salt? I don't have high blood pressure, but I think I should cut down and I can't seem to find any foods without sodium. Any suggestions?
A: Salt, also known as sodium chloride, is 40 percent sodium by weight and the number-one source of that element in our diets. We need only 500 mg of sodium per day - far less than the average intake of five to six grams per day!
